He is a lovely, clever and charming boy. He is too talkative and very naughty. Although he had too many complications at the time of his birth, he always have charming smile on his face. He taught me many things in life and still doing so. He is the one who taught me how to be with patience and how to accept the life as it comes, unconditional love and self-less love. Without him I wouldn't have become a complete woman.
At 12 months of his age he had been diagnosed with cerebral palsy. Although it has been a toughest journey, I could proudly say he made me a super mom. My proud moments so far:
- He has been attending preschool from 2.6 years.
- He understands two languages by the age two.
- He started speaking two languages by the age of 3.
- Identifying colors by the age of 23 months.
- Excellent memory power.
- Sipping from cup by the age 2.6 months.
It is quiet common and natural for many mothers to observe these milestones at the right age. But for me it took lot of effort to achieve these. I had to work continuously to make use of cup for my son to sip milk. I worked for about 6 months to make my son using cup instead of sipper. I worked on color identification nearly 5 months. I was speaking to him continuously to improve his speaking and understanding skills.
Sending him to preschool at the age of 2.6, with his physical condition was hard. But it would have been biggest regret if i didn't send him to preschool. Today me and my husband are very proud of our decision. this decision made my son more confident and more sociable. After attending preschool he has become very brave and much more comfortable in attending his hospital appointments.
Before analyzing whether they will be able to do or not our encouragement is must,. I agree, initially it seems impossible. But with continuous effort we can make things possible. I am not in a position to comment it is possible or impossible with every kid who has neurological problems. But only mother who spends much time with their kid can definitely analyse their positives or abilities.
