EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT SDR and FUNDRAISING

What is SDR(Selective Dorsal Rhizotomy)?
SDR is a spinal surgery which makes the pupil's legs spastic free(or remove the tightness). This will help to build the strength by doing intense physiotherapy. SDR is not a cure for cerebral palsy, but t it changes lives and gives another level of independence to the candidate.

Why do we need to raise funds? What is fundraising campaign?
This surgery is not funded by NHS. Fundraising campaigns and events connect people with causes they care about, but excellent fundraising is not just about bringing in the money. We seek financial support as well as we are proud to create awareness about CP(Cerebral Palsy), SDR.

Are we raising funds through a charity?
Yes, we are raising funds through a charity. The charity number is 1164473

Can I help with fundraising?
Yes Please!!! There are so many ways in which you can help fundraise. Perhaps you want to do a cake sale, charity bike ride, 5k run, triathlon, bungee jump, abseil, maybe you want to really push yourself and try the Tough Mudder or Skydive.

What will the money raise pay for?
Approximately £50000 will go for surgery and aftercare and intense 2-3 weeks of intense physio. After the surgery, Pranav needs 2 years 5 days a week of therapy which costs 25000£ per year. After two years he still needs to continue physio may be for about 3 days a week physio. In addition to this, any remaining funds will be used to buy any specialist therapy equipment which is required.

Do we have the date for the surgery yet?
We have got the approval for surgery. While working out for the dates we got to know the next slot would be in September 2019. As of now we have booked for it, and asked us to inform us in case of any cancellations prior to it.

Where is the surgery and who performs it?
